About Whale
Whales are fully aquatic, open-ocean creatures. Whale weighs as much as 20 elephants but lives beneath the sea. The blue whale is Earth’s largest animal. Larger than the largest of ancient dinosaurs, blue whales can grow to be more than 100 feet (30 meters) long and weigh nearly 150 tons.
The Blue Whale Balaenoptera Musculus, or the blue whale, is the largest mammal in the world. Whales evolved from land-living mammals, and must regularly surface to breathe air, although they can remain underwater for long periods of time.
Did you even know whales ever lived on land? The whales are the biggest animals. They are larger than the largest dinosaurs. They live in the ocean like other sea creatures, but they almost look like land-living animals more than fishes. Furthermore, some scientists believed that around fifty million years ago, whales probably lived on the land.
Whales are carnivorous animals and eat small fishes, phytoplanktons, and other sea animals. There are more than a hundred species of whales that are known to man.

Steps To Draw A Whale
We try to make our tutorial simple and sweet. You can see the short demo in the image below. And you can follow the stepwise instructions in detail below. Follow the steps below to easily draw a whale step by step.

Draw Circle

We are starting by drawing a circle roughly as shown in the image above. Use a pencil to draw the circle as it is only for reference purposes. We will erase it in further steps.
Draw Two Curves

Now draw the two lines for drawing the whale’s body as in the image above. Use a pencil to draw curves roughly as it is only for reference purposes. We will erase it in further steps.
Draw Upper Outline Fairly

Now draw an upper outline fairly as in the image above. Now, use the marker while drawing it on curves and also take references to the rough lines that we drew in steps 1 and step 2 while drawing.
Draw Mouth

Then, at the lower part of the circle, draw the whale’s mouth as in the image above. Take the reference lines for drawing the mouth of the whale. We are making a smiley face of the whale.
Draw Lower Outline

After that, draw the lower outline of the whale by drawing the curve roughly as in the image above. Now, use the marker while drawing it on curves and also take references to the rough lines that we drew in steps 1 and step 2 while drawing.
Draw Whale’s Tail

Now, draw the half part of the whale’s tail as in the image above. Make sure you make a little bit pointed end.
Complete Whale’s Tail

Now complete the whale’s tail as in the image above. Make sure you make a little bit pointed end.
Draw Whale’s Flippers

Now draw the flippers or fins of the whale on both sides as in the image above. While drawing it make sure one flappers longer and another shorter as shown in the image above.
Draw Blowhole

Here we are drawing the water flowing from the blowhole. First, draw a small circle to make a blowhole on the whale’s head and roughly draw a branch like structure and some circles roughly as in the image above.
Draw Outline of Blowhole

After that draw an outline of the blow by taking the references of the rough lines that we drew on the above steps as in the image above. Now, use the marker while drawing it.
Draw Water Droplets

Then, draw the water droplets around the blowhole fairly as in the image above. Use the reference lines while drawing the water droplets.
Erase Rough Lines

After that erase all the rough lines that we draw on different steps for the reference lines as in the image above.
Draw Ventral Pleats

Now draw the ventral pleats at the lower part of the whale as in the image above. Draw 6 curvey lines in the lower part.
Draw Whale’s Cute Eye

Then, draw a circular cute whale’s eye as in the image above. Also, draw the whale’s eyebrows as in the image above.
Colouring a Whale
After the drawing of a whale is completed we move forward with coloring the whale. For coloring, we had chosen some basic colours. Use the light blue colour in the blowhole. And the dark blue to the body of the whale. After a little light blue to the ventral pleats. You can fill color according to our wish too.
Colour Details:
- Dark Blue
- Light Blue
